Kol Rinah is a community that values diversity in all its forms, including diversity of opinion. Since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, our congregation has not been immune from the tensions that come with varying opinions about the ongoing war in Gaza. Rather than allow those tensions to fester, Kol Rinah is launching our first cohort of “Compassionate Conversations,” a series of meetings for people with different perspectives to come together and respectfully discuss the situation in Israel. The conversations will be moderated by Cyndee Levy and will take place over the course of four evenings. Cyndee will be teaching skills on how to engage in difficult conversations.

There is limited availability to participate, as we are looking to have an intimate group that can build a dynamic of trust and support. The goal is to foster a spirit of mutual respect for divergent perspectives and to serve as a model for how we, as a community, can comfortably engage in discussions when there is conflict.

All meetings will take place at Kol Rinah from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. on the following dates: March 6, 2025 March 17, 2025 March 31, 2025 April 21, 2025 If you would like to participate, please send an email to Shula Neuman and Rena Münster that includes why you’re interested and how you identify your relationship to Israel.

Deadline for applying is February 21, 2025
