Shavuot
Note from Rabbi Arnow

May 20, 2020
We hope that you have been managing during this strange, scary time. As you know, we have not had any in-person services or programs since the middle of March, and we will be very cautious before beginning any in-person programming.
In the meantime, we are trying to create meaningful ways to connect and be together by using the technology available to us.
We particularly want to let you know about our plans for Shavuot, which begins Thursday evening May 28. Shavuot celebrates the season of the annual first harvest in ancient Israel, a moment of relief, gratitude and celebration. It also commemorates the receiving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. We each approach this moment differently, this year experiencing this season with different emotions, and receiving Torah not together as a community but more on our own. But studying Torah even now, at home, is still capable of creating profound spiritual experiences and meaning. To that end,
Shavuot Programming
Need help or not comfortable with Technology?
We know not everyone is equally comfortable with technology. If you would like help in figuring out how to take part in any of our virtual offerings, please give us a call in the office, and we’ll do our best to assist. Also enclosed in this mailing is a list of those who people connected to our congregational family who have passed away since last Shavuot, for your use and prayers during Yizkor.
We have minyan every weekday morning and evening, as well as Friday nights, and several weekly learning opportunities. For any of these, if you’d like to join us by Zoom or phone, we’d love to have you. Just call the office and we’ll get you the information you need.
Additionally, if there are any ways that we or Kol Rinah can be helpful to you, please give us a call in the office. We’d be happy just to chat or catch up, and also to connect you to resources that may be helpful.
Wishing you a joyous Shavuot,
Rabbi Noah Arnow & Rabbi Scott Shafrin
