Elizabeth (Liz) Collins, Director

Liz is originally from Illinois and now lives in St. Louis with her husband and four children.  She has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Southeast Missouri State University.  Prior to coming to KRECC in 2015, she spent fourteen years working in Early Childhood education at a Jewish day school and recognizes that this time period is the beginning of a child’s great learning adventure.  Seeing the excitement in a child’s eyes when they master a new skill or try something new for the first time is an awesome experience to get to be a part of.  Liz enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, participating in events that support Autism, and listening to music.

Claire Welker, Infant/Toddler Supervisor

Claire was born just down the street, in University City and finds herself reconnecting with many of the people she grew up with through her work at the center. She has been with Kol Rinah for 12 years and is indebted to them for helping nurture her desire to work with children and allowing her to finish her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from University of Missouri-St. Louis. She became the Infant/Toddler Supervisor three years ago and loves that she still gets to work with the children while also supporting the teachers and creating lasting relationships with our parents and families. Claire believes that quality Early Childhood Education is crucial for development and she considers herself so lucky to be so involved in making sure that happens for all of the children in our care. She currently lives in Creve Coeur with her husband and two young children and just enjoys soaking in all the little moments that make up the best memories.

We have specialists in the areas of art, science/nature, music, creative movement and yoga. Rabbis Arnow and Shafrin contribute to our program by helping us welcome Shabbat each week, leading us in song during holiday celebrations and teaching in the classrooms.
