November 2020 ECC News

What a wonderful September and October we have had here at KRECC. In September, classes spent a lot of time learning about bees and honey, apples, round challah, and sounds of the shofar in preparation for Rosh Hashanah. It was wonderful peeking into the classrooms and seeing children dipping bubble wrap in yellow paint and stamping it on paper to create a honeycomb bee hive effect. In some of the older classes children were seen eating a variety of flavor of apples and tasting them to discover their favorite kind. During music class via Zoom with Ms. Karen Kern, children were singing songs about the sounds of the shofar and dipping apples in honey. Then in October, classes spent time learning about Sukkot. Children had an opportunity to play with a stuffed lulav and etrog and pretended to invite guests to their Sukkah. After all the holiday learning and projects, classes enjoyed the cooler temperatures outside and going on nature walks to see the leaves on the trees changing colors and falling to the ground.
