We had a wonderful fall season of learning here at Monica Lynne Neidorff Early Childhood Center. During circle time classes could be heard singing songs about autumn leaves falling to the ground, listening to stories read to them, and “raking” up fake leaves scattered around the room into piles. Classes also spent time going on outdoor scavenger excursions searching for colorful leaves, acorns, and twigs that they brought back to their rooms...Read more...

We are so fortunate and blessed to have started our 2021-2022 school year in our new center. To witness the pure joy and excitement of the staff, children, and families arriving to school that first day was a truly incredible experience. Parents gleaming with smiles as they pulled up in the carpool line to drop their child/children off. Glancing at teachers happily awaiting the children’s arrival to carry or hold hands to walk them across the...Read more...

We are so excited to be starting our 2021-2022 school year off in the very first Jewish childhood center in Clayton. We have realized over our many years in operation that one of the things that our families really appreciate in addition to our warm, nurturing environment and educational philosophy is our location. Many of the families that already send their child/children to our program work in Clayton and are so happy that the new center is...Read more...

What an extraordinary last couple months we have had here at Kol Rinah ECC. We got to meet our Shinshin from Israel, Evyatar. Even though we didn't get to spend as much time getting to know him as we have our other Shinshin that have come to teach us about Israel, we really enjoyed the time we did have and the activities that he did with the Penguin and Starfish classes.  We also celebrated our Starfish class as they closed one chapter of...Read more...

Even though the Jewish holidays have looked slightly different due to COVID protocols, we made the most of our Purim and Passover festivities.  For Purim, the kids were so excited to dress up in costumes and parade around their classrooms.  The classes also loved singing songs with Ms. Karen during music.  For Passover, the classes loved searching their classrooms for the hidden afikomen, searching and getting rid of  chometz...Read more...

KRECC is loving this Winter weather. Although the colder days have mostly kept us inside, we have been able to bundle up in our coats, hats, and mittens and go outside some afternoons. One of the days that it snowed, our teachers were able to gather some snow in buckets and bring it inside for the children to look at and touch. For Tu B'Shevat, classes spent time reading books like Sammy Spider's First Tu B'Shevat and Dear Tree. In classroom...Read more...

Kol Rinah ECC has had many wonderful things going on these past couple of months. Though our holiday family programs have looked different this school year due to COVID-19 restrictions, it hasn't stopped us from learning and celebrating Thanksgiving and Hanukkah while at school. The teachers have been so creative and thoughtful in planning activities for their classrooms. As Thanksgiving approached, circle time stories and discussions focused on...Read more...

November 2020 ECC News

What a wonderful September and October we have had here at KRECC. In September, classes spent a lot of time learning about bees and honey, apples, round challah, and sounds of the shofar in preparation for Rosh Hashanah. It was wonderful peeking into the classrooms and seeing children dipping bubble wrap in yellow paint and stamping it on paper to create a honeycomb bee hive effect. In some of the older classes children were seen eating a...Read more...

It has been wonderful being back at school since the middle of June. Classes have spent the summer months learning about farms, camping, the circus, and space. It was fun to walk down the ECC hall and notice within the classrooms tents set up for camping in the dramatic play area, barns built from blocks in the wooden blocks area, and sun, moon, and stars made from playdough in the sensory area.  On August 17, we will welcomed in the...Read more...
