November 2021 News

We are so fortunate and blessed to have started our 2021-2022 school year in our new center. To witness the pure joy and excitement of the staff, children, and families arriving to school that first day was a truly incredible experience. Parents gleaming with smiles as they pulled up in the carpool line to drop their child/children off. Glancing at teachers happily awaiting the children’s arrival to carry or hold hands to walk them across the new play space and take them into school. Then to finally see the look on the kids’ faces as the ECC door opened. The first words out of their mouths were, "Look at those lines!" The teachers quickly responded that those colorful lines lead us to our classroom.

As the kids passed each classroom they noticed all the windows and quickly realized that they could see everything going on in each room. It’s really cool to see children peeking in on their friends, siblings, and cousins through the windows and not only that, but being able to see through the classrooms to the other hallway.

After everyone gets settled into their classrooms, the school day begins. Our educational philosophy is that children learn best through play. Through sensory-filled, hands-on activities, children learn and explore a variety of themed units. Classes also spend time learning about Jewish traditions and holidays and come together each week as a school community for Shabbat Ruach with Rabbi Arnow and Rabbi Shafrin. In addition to the learning that happens within the classrooms, children attend specials including Art, Music, Music and Movement and Science. Our two oldest classes also get to learn all about Israel from our Shinshin, Roye.
