March 2024 News

It has been so wonderful visiting classrooms over the past several weeks to observe classes learning about Winter, hibernation, Tu BiShvat, emotions, body and nutrition, dental health and so much more. I am always so impressed with how our teachers transform their dramatic play areas to support these units of study. For example, when the Penguin class was learning about hibernation, their dramatic play area was made into a bear cave. I also get excited to see classes incorporating sensory and hands-on activities into their lessons. For Winter and hibernation lessons, sensory bins were filled with white cotton balls for snow and caves for the bears to hibernate in made from paper towel holders. For Tu BiShvat, sensory bins included brown popsicle sticks and a variety of green things including green pom poms, green crinkle paper, green buttons to make trees.
