The program is called "Cafe Ivrit" which means Hebrew Cafe. The name demonstrates "conversations in a cafe". The program will be for amateur- intermediate Hebrew speakers. The main goal of these sessions is to practice Hebrew, extend the knowledge of the participants about Israel. The knowledge about Israel will be delivered in a way of discussions. Each meeting we will discuss about a different topic such as: Israeli culture, IDF, Hebrew slang, life as an Israeli, High School in Israel, etc.
The program is based on:
1) the Hebrew language
2) Lasting relationships - the participants will be able to chat in Hebrew with a native speaker, and hopefully build relationships with him and with the other group mates.
Roi Mast is a Shinshin at Kol Rinah this year. A Shinshin is an 18-year-old Israeli emissary who defers their army service for one year to volunteer in Jewish communities abroad with the goal of educating people of all ages about Israel and Israeli culture. They teach about Israel through creative programs and challenging discussions, bringing an authentic Israel experience to the community they serve.
