Hiddenness: A Mystical Look at the Days of Awe
Wednesday, August 27, 12:00 pm (get the Zoom link below)
In the hush and din of the High Holidays, the mystics hear whispers of a deeper truth — our souls longing for intimacy with God. We’ll explore the hidden drama and divine dynamics of this season through kabbalistic and Chasidic teachings and practices that help us return to our truest selves and draw closer to the hidden light of the Divine.

Halakha: Laws of the Days of Awe
Wednesday, September 3, 12:00 pm (get the Zoom link below)
Through the rhythms and rituals of the High Holidays, halakha guides us in a sacred choreography — shaping our actions, words, and even thoughts. Together we’ll find meaning in the minutiae and details of this season’s laws and customs, with special attention to the unique practices of the Ten Days of Repentance. Bring your questions as we explore how these halakhic pathways help us attune to our responsibilities, our community, and our covenant.

Humor: Laughing into the Days of Awe
Saturday, September 13, 8:30 pm, before Selichot (in-person)
Even amidst the solemnity of the Days of Awe, Jews have always found room for laughter — at ourselves, at each other, even (gently) at God. Together we’ll explore the meaning and power of humor during this season, through stories, jokes, and teachings that lighten the weight of judgment and open the heart to joy. Bring your favorite High Holiday jokes, as we begin to return to our truest selves with humility, honesty, and a smile.
