Dr. Elai Rettig will provide an overview of recent domestic and foreign developments in Israeli politics, and whether we should expect anything new under the sun. Elai is the “Israel Institute Teaching Fellow” at the Department of Jewish, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies and at the Environmental Studies Program at Washington University in St Louis. His research focuses on energy politics, economics and foreign policy in Israel and the Middle East. Prior to his appointment at WashU, Elai was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Security and Conflict Studies (ISCS) at George Washington University and a Neubauer fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) at Tel Aviv University.
