Machor Cohort How to envision our shul for tomorrow

What is our vision for the synagogue and how do we get there? How do we make plans and how do we respond when those plans are upended by unexpected events? We are hosting a workshop on leadership development to position our members interested in joining the board of directors or current directors wanting to move up from their current position on a path to success. The application is open to all members of the congregation and we encourage people not currently on the board to apply. Our goal is to enhance the knowledge and problem-solving skills of the people most interested in leading our congregation for the next several years. You may currently be on the board, or you may be a hidden gem just waiting for the opportunity to step forward. Please raise your hand, tell us who you are!
The workshop is led by Nanette Fridman, Fridman Strategies. It is made possible by a grant from OnBoard, a national philanthropic organization that focuses on developing leadership in the Jewish community. We are thrilled to have Nanette lead this workshop as she brings valuable knowledge and humor into her consulting work with non-profits.
The workshop will start after the high holy days, exact dates to be announced but each session will be on a weekday, starting in the early evening and on Zoom. Details are:
  • 4 Sessions, 60-75 minutes each
  • Session 1:  During COVID, we were all required to innovate by necessity. How can we continue to innovate by design? We will learn how to use innovative thinking moving forward to hypothesize, experiment, measure, learn, adopt, or iterate.
  • Session 2: Explore where Kol Rinah is at now with respect to membership, education, finance, and engagement. We will look at the data and explore the questions the numbers raise.
  • Session 3: How can we change our mindset when things happen from panic and paralysis to possibilities? What does it mean to be a leader who thinks about what is possible?
  • Session 4: Together we will seek to understand how our personal “why” powers our “what” as we think about using our leadership in the future.

Please submit the following application by August 27, 2021, 7PM.
