The Maccabees
Our Kol Rinah Co-ed Softball Team, the
Kol Rinah Maccabees, has been playing in the St. Louis Inter-Congregational Softball League for years. Games are on Sundays
on the back fields of the Creve Coeur Jewish Community Center. Teams consist of 8 men and 2 women. Games last 7 innings or 1 hour and 15 minutes (whichever comes first), and the season lasts for 12 regular-season games plus as many games as we can win in the playoffs.
While we’ve never won the championship, and we don’t exactly strike fear in the hearts of our opponents, we have more fun than most teams and we’re a lot of fun to play against. Come out and cheer on your fellow congregants as we take on B’nai Amoona, Bais Abe, CRC and many other synagogues in a friendly but spirited game of softball.
