Big Shabbat News from Rabbi Arnow 4/1/2022

Dear Kol Rinah Family,

Read the whole email this week--there's some big, exciting news!

The last two years, the sections of the Torah that deal with invisibly contagious infections felt bizarrely and intensely relevant.

As I was preparing Torah Talk, there was something delightful, actually, about the Torah feeling a little less urgently connected to my life.

Last week, the the Mishkan (Tabernacle) was finally inaugurated, and then we got into some regular life (kashrut), and now we're into more regular life with ritual purity issues.

And regular life will be coming back to Kol Rinah soon too!

Beginning next week, on Friday night April 8, services in the Sanctuary will be mask-optional (with a section reserved where masks will be required).  We'll still ask everyone to where masks when walking around the building, as there may be small kids not eligible for vaccination around.  We'll also be starting kiddush again on April 9 (with perhaps a pause for Pesach after that).

Check your email next week for more details about this.

Looking back at last week, mazal tov to our members Dena Rennard and Noah Priluck on their wedding on Sunday!  It was such a joy to officiate, and especially in our Sanctuary!

At noon today, I'll be teaching Torah Talk, where we'll look at some of the fascinating explanations for plague occuring in clothing and houses.  Join us!

Candle lighting is at 7:07pm.

Services tonight will be at 6pm--and we'll be A CAPPELLA this Friday night!

Saturday morning is a big morning at shul.  I'm thrilled that
Eitan Kantor will be leading a special Shacharit and Hallel--you don't want to miss this!  We'll also have three Torahs out for Shabbat HaChodesh and Rosh Chodesh.  Come join us!

Mincha Saturday afternoon will be at 7pm, and Shabbat ends at about 8:06pm.

Beginning next Thursday (at 10:30am), I'll be teaching five sessions on Jewish eating.
Details here.

And Passover is coming!  All the details you need are here:
https://www.kolrinahstl.org/passover-information.html--sell your chametz, submit a Passover Haiku, and more!

May we all stay safe and healthy, and I hope to see you soon.
Shabbat shalom,
Rabbi Noah Arnow
