Shabbat Shalom from Rabbi Shafrin 5/13/2022

Dear Kol Rinah Family,

This week has been a flurry of energy, as we have so many incredible things all happening in the week ahead!

This Sunday, our year of learning concludes for our Kol Rinah Education Hub (KoREH). It has been a tremendous year, with incredible milestones. Our school has been growing each year and thanks to the excitement of our students and decidation of our amazing parents and families, the year was a huge success. I also want to say a special thank you to our incredible KoREH teachers, our madrichim (teaching assistants), and especially, Melissa, Bellows, my partner in crime. All of your hard work has made this learning community so fantastic!

I am even more proud that this year, on Sunday, May 15, Kol Rinah will host our first ever Mitzvah Day. There is still time to register and attend this wonderful day of doing good for our community, as well as learning more about the incredible partnerships we have been developing with other organizations and communities to do justice here in St. Louis.

We will be collecting food to benefit our local Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, books to donate to Ready Readers, and also money to benefit our local community as well as our siblings in Ukraine who are struggling against an unjust invasion of their sovereign land.

I encourage you to sign up, check out the amazing activities we will have for every person in our community. Click
here to register.

We are also getting set to celebrate Lag Ba'Omer, the 33rd Day of the Omer, this coming Wednesday evening and Thursday. Traditionally, this day of celebration, coming in the otherwise somber, seven-week period of the Omer, which starts at Pesach and concludes on Shavuot. We'll be coming together Wednesday night starting at 5:00 pm at Shaw Park. We'd love to see you there!

Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Scott Shafrin
