Dear Kol Rinah Family,
I am so happy to be back in town this week after a lovely holiday celebration. Thanksgiving has always been a special holiday for me. Growing up, it was a time when a very special and rare configuration of family and friends would gather together to spend the day with one another, eat together, and rejoice. I saw cousins, friends that were invited each year without fail, and had tasty specialities that people would make but once a year.
I love that idea that the experience of simply being together with others can create lasting memories and shape our experiences. I am so proud and grateful of the many ways our Kol Rinah folks have come together to form Shabbat community each week, and it is the people who spend time with one another who make those experiences so powerful.
Which is why I am particularly happy that our Kol HaMishpacha Service is returning this week at 10:30 am on Shabbat morning! For those of you who have not joined us before, it is a family service for adults and kids ages six and up to get a taste of our services, add in some special tunes, learn a little about the parashah of the week, and get to meet with other amazing people, especially our own wonderful leaders, Karen Kern and Rabbi Jessica Shafrin. It will be a fantastic experience (and a nice, warm, welcoming place on a cold, Shabbat morning in December), so I hope we will see you there!
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Scott Shafrin

This afternoon, Rabbi Arnow will be leading Torah Talk at noon over Zoom. He will be focusing on the section of Parashat Vayeitzei looking at Jacob's story as he ventures out into the world to find his place. We're looking forward to a great discussion!
Tonight, we will have Kabbalat Shabbat in person Kol Rinah starting at 6:00 pm in our chapel.
Tomorrow, we will be meeting in the sanctuary for Shabbat morning services starting at 9:00 am (livestream link below). The link for the Shabbat livestream can be found below.
We will also have a Kol HaMishapacha Family Shabbat Service at 10:30 am on Saturday morning for our families and kiddos, led by our very own Karen Kern and Rabbi Jessica Shafrin.
We know that several of our community members have been having difficulties watching our livestream. We are aware of the problem, which is not with our equipment or our internet, but rather is a specific issue with our service provider. We are working to address these outages in the short term, as well as actively reviewing other service providers to solve the issue long term. Please be patient with us as we work to corrent the problem and ensure that everyone who wants to can view our services remotely.
Mincha/Ma'ariv for Shabbat this Saturday evening begins at 4:15 pm.
Candle Lighting Friday night is at 4:22 pm.
Parshah: Vayeitzei
Torah Reading: Genesis 28:10 - 32:3
Haftarah: Hosea 12:13-14:10
Havdalah will be at 5:25 pm.
