The sun is shining and the birds are chirping, which must mean that summer is here and so are our summer Kabbalat Shabbat gatherings in Shaw Park! Our first one will be NEXT WEEK FRIDAY, JUNE 16 at 6:00 pm. It is a slightly shortened and modified Firday night service, and we are thrilled to be able to share some fan favorite tunes with all of you!
We will meet at the South Shelter, right near the new playground and where we held our Lag Ba'Omer program. You are welcome to bring dinner and come early or stay late to meet up with friends, play in the park, and enjoy the start of Shabbat together!
-- Mazal tov to Georgia Zev and Delaney Holden, as well as Joel Portman and Alicia Bach and their families on their upcoming weddings! We are looking forward to honoring your s'machot this coming Shabbat!
We also have many other exciting ways to connect this Shabbat!
We will be having Torah Talk both at noon today over Zoom, as well as on Shabbat morning at 10:15 in the Community Hall. I will be talking about the fascinating ritual of the "leaning of hands," or s'micha, which elects the Levitical priests in Parashat B'ha'alotecha, as well as rabbis throughout the modern age.
We will be having regular Kabbalat Shabbat services this evening in our Chapel starting at 6:00pm sharp, and would love to have your voices join with ours in sacred song!
This Shabbat morning we will be meeting at 9:00 am in the main sanctuary. We will not be meeting for services on Shabbat afternoon for mincha/ma'ariv.
Kol tuv,
Rabbi Shafrin
