Kabbalat Shabbat will be at 6pm - join me to sing and welcome Shabbat.
Candle lighting is at 8:09pm.
Tomorrow morning, we'll start at 9am.
Torah Talk will be at about 10:10am. We'll look at the Israelites' rejected request to cross through Edom on their wanderings.
In my sermon, I'll be speaking on the theme of places where Jews have been forbidden from going, as well as our own inclinations to exclude and ban people from Jewish communities.
Shabbat ends at 9:13pm.
I'll be away for about two weeks beginning Sunday. Rabbi Scott Shafrin and/or Rabbi Josef Davidson will be available for pastoral emergencies.
Wednesday evening, July 17, our Grief Havurah, led by Rabbi Jessica Shafrin, will meet at 6:30pm.
Next Friday night (July 19), we'll have services again at 6pm at the Park led by Karen Kern and Will Soll. Bring a picnic dinner! Even if it's hot outside, the area is shaded, and there's often a nice breeze!
Tuesday, July 23 is the 17th of Tammuz, a minor fast day. Services will be on Zoom that day as usual, at 7am and 6pm. The fast begins at 4:14am and ends at 8:50pm.
Saturday, July 27, our outgoing Shinshinit Or Garti will speak before heading home to Israel.
Eruv "Keep It Up" Campaign
Over the next week, we hope to raise $45,000.00 (or more!) to help cover the annual budget of our Saint Louis Community Eruv! Each family is asked to please consider a gift of $360, (or more!) or whatever they can, to help us reach our goal!
The link to donate and for more information about the campaign is www.charidy.com/stleruv.
May the one who makes peace in the heavens make peace over us, and over all Israel, and over all who dwell in the world.
Shabbat shalom and see you in shul,
Rabbi Noah Arnow
