Dear Kol Rinah Family, Another Shabbat, another winter weather advisory! Please only come out this Shabbat if you feel safe, but if you do feel safe, by all means come-we have a terrific Shabbat planned! Tonight, Cantor Ellen Dreskin will be leading Friday night services. We’ll be in the lower auditorium. Cantor Dreskin is an amazing, wise spiritual presence and prayer leader, and we’re so lucky to have her at Kol Rinah this Friday night. We’ll have wine and cheese at 5:30pm, services at 6pm, dinner (for those who RSVP’d) at 7:30pm, and at around 8:30pm, Cantor Dreskin will teach on the connection between our melodies and our theology. Please come for that too, even if you’re not coming for dinner! All the details are here. A special thank you to the Irvin and Dolores Rubin Music Fund for helping to sponsor this! Candle lighting tonight is at 5:21pm. Tomorrow morning services are at 9am. Rabbi Shafrin will be teaching Torah Talk at 10:10am, and Mincha Saturday afternoon will be at 4:20pm and Shabbat ends at 6:20pm. Saturday evening beginning at 5:30pm in the lower auditorium, Shira Kline, aka ShirLaLa will be with us for a Pajama Havdalah, a dance party with the moon and stars. We’ll begin with a PJ Library Storytime, and then transition into some end-of-shabbat music, make Havdalah, and then have the dance party. A special thank you to the Irvin and Dolores Rubin Music Fund for helping to sponsor this too, as well as our co-sponsor, PJ Libary! Details are here. Next Shabbat is Men’s Club Shabbat, and Saturday night, March 2 is Kol Rinah’s annual Trivia Night. Sign up is here for this fun community activity that also supports so much of what we do. Our minyan app rollout is continuing! To review, it is basically a signup and reminder system for minyan, so that we can better know how many people are planning to come, and so that we can all know when we’re “needed” for minyan. To get started, click here. If you need help, you can e-mail minyan@kolrinahstl.org or call the office. Rabbi Shafrin and I, and many of the folks at minyan are willing and able to help. Full instructions are available here. Please do sign up for all the minyanim that you regularly attend, and expect to attend, so that we can begin to know, for each minyan, how many people we have coming, and can ask others to come if we’re short. We expect it’ll take a couple of weeks for everyone to fully sign up for all the minyanim they attend, but there’s no time like the present to sign up for minyanim! And a huge thank you to our member Michael Faccini who has really spearheaded this effort, and done so much of the work involved in making it happen! And now for a little Torah… Here’s a beautiful d’var Torah written in the Jewish Light by our member Rabbi Micah Buck-Yael that’s related to what I’ll be speaking about tomorrow morning too. Shabbat shalom and see you in shul! Rabbi Noah Arnow
