Happy November and Chodesh Heshvan Tov! It has been a fantastic week of getting back into the swing of things, and with both the months of November and the Hebrew month of Heshvan starting this week, we are moving ahead full steam! Remember that this Sunday ends daylight savings time, so remember to set your clocks back an hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.
Thank you once again to all of our families and students who participated in our Yom Iyyun and Consecration last week! It was amazing to get to spend Shabbat learning with all of you and connecting all different parts of our community to one another.
We have a lot of exciting programs coming up at Kol Rinah. In just a few weeks, The weekend of November 22-24 will be our annual JTS Scholar in Residence weekend, featuring the brilliant and incredible Dr. Marjorie Lehman. Details on all of the amazing teaching Dr. Lehman will be leading throughout the weekend, as well as a registration link for a special Friday night dinner with her, can be found below.

Tonight is our First Fridays for Families, and we'll feature some wonderful tunes for our members of all ages to dance and sing along with. Kabbalat Shabbat with Rabbi Arnow, Karen Kern, and myself will start downstairs in the Mirowitz Auditorium at 6:00 pm. Candle lighting is at 5:43 pm.
Tomorrow morning, is our New Member Shabbat, and we welcome all of the people who joined our community in the last year to come and be recognized, meet new friends, and enjoy a lovely, festive Shabbat together. Services will start downstairs at 9:00 am. Rabbi Arnow will be doing Torah Talk around 10:10 am, as well as Jr. Torah Talk, for our elementary and middle school members, around 10:45 am, both in the upper auditorium.
We will also be having a special, Parashat-Noach-themed Tot Shabbat, led by our own Melissa Bellows, in the Sara Myers Community Room at 10:45 am. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal to join in Noah's Ark!
Mincha this Shabbat will being in the Chapel at 4:45 pm, followed by Seudat Shlishit, learning, and Ma'ariv. Havdallah concludes Shabbat at 6:45 pm.
