So, join us for the first Shabbat of 2020. We’ll be praying, singing, learning, and doing Jewish together.
Tonight, we’ll have our First Fridays Kabbalat Shabbat at 6pm in the lower auditorium, a slightly abbreviated, energetic service where all are welcome, including kids and wiggles. Candle lighting is at 4:34pm.
Tomorrow morning, services will be at 9am in the lower auditorium. Rabbi Shafrin will be leading Torah Talk at 10:10am and I’ll be giving a sermon at around 11:15am.
After Kiddush, Professor Nancy Berg will be teaching on “What We Talk About When We Talk About Hebrew,” the title of a book she recently co-edited. Professor Berg is a Professor of Hebrew Language and Literature at Washington University in St. Louis, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our Kol Rinah community. I hope you’ll join us!
Mincha Saturday afternoon will be at 3:35pm and Shabbat ends at 5:36pm.
Tuesday is the Fast of the 10th of Tevet. It commemorates the beginning of the siege of Jerusalem, leading eventually to the destruction of the first Temple. You can read some more about it here. The fast begins at 5:50am and ends at 5:25pm.
