Creating a Special Community Within Our Space
Over the past several years we have done an amazing job of raising support, funding, designing, and building our new congregational home. I realize we have barely used it, but our accomplishments are truly spectacular.
At this time of the year we take a closer look at where we have been, where we are, and what the future holds for us, individually and as a community. Some might say that times are tough, and they are. But the times are also special, even historical. Now that we have a beautiful new structure, we can marvel at the success of our planning and design, but what we do within the walls of our new facility is also important and offers us even greater challenges and possibilities.
Our building and facilities were designed, purchased, and constructed by external contractors. What we do within the walls is up to us. All of us can make a commitment to step up and contribute, not just our funds, but also with our time and talents.
There are so many ways for us to volunteer. The more we get involved the greater our congregation can be. We need your help in so many areas: Our daily minyans often struggle to achieve 10 people each day. You can be counted if not for yourself but to help our fellow congregants in mourning. We need help with Engagement/Membership, Finance, Halls & Catering, Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Tzedek Team, Israel, and the posting of our Memorial Plaques. We need more help in all of these areas, and we need you now.
We can make excuses or we can make action plans and promises. We have the talent, we have the time if we are willing to make this young, promising congregation a priority in our lives.
