“Kol Rinah welcomes everyone. This means YOU! We embrace a diversity of all Jews. including: Jews by choice, Jews of all hues, singles, couples, families, Interfaith households, LGBTQ Jews, Jews of all abilities and disabilities, the Jew-curious, and more!”
Kol Rinah should be a place where Jews and their families of all backgrounds can gather together without judgment. Kol Rinah prides itself on being an inclusive community, and this includes our many member families that identify as interfaith.
As we discuss or debate the recommended bylaws changes…
Let’s consider the benefits and opportunities that expanding our inclusion could provide for Kol Rinah, and for our inter-faith families.
Some have argued that including members who are not of the Jewish faith would be a future threat to our institution. Great numbers of non-Jewish members could stage a takeover of our board. Threaten our Judaism? Let's look at this as a positive opportunity, not a threat or incursion. Let's look at it from the perspective of outreach, understanding, inclusiveness, and opportunity to grow and build together.
