It has been a busy time for young families this High Holiday season! On Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur our families enjoyed engaging with fun stations that allowed them to learn about the holidays in a kid friendly manner. We also enjoyed celebrating our world’s 5779th birthday by discussing our wishes for the world, eating some birthday cake, and singing happy birthday on the second day of Rosh Hashanah. Over a dozen families joined us for a delicious Simchat Torah Family Dinner followed by a fun night filled with giveaways, candy, stuffed Torahs, and dancing!
While it has been a whirlwind coming in as the new Young Families Program Coordinator this time of year, everyone has been welcoming and it has been so wonderful to get to meet all of our young families. Each event brought new people and it is clear to me that Kol Rinah has such a fantastic and vibrant young family community. I am looking forward to getting to know our families even better (and continuing to learn everyone’s names!).
Now that the High Holidays are behind us, I am working with the Leadership Team to plan some excellent programming for young families, not only just geared to kids, but also some events for parents to allow us to grow tighter as a community. We will continue our regular Shabbat programming with First Friday Night for Families, Tot Shabbat, and Rhythm ’n’ Ruach each once a month. In November we have First Friday Night for Families on November 2nd, Rhythm ’n’ Ruach on November 10th, and Tot Shabbat on November 17th.
