Happy New Year, at least we hope this will be a happier year than 2023. I’m writing this during Chanukah, when we’re all thinking about bringing Light into a world with too much darkness, especially in Israel. Today Kol Rinah and many other organizations will be showing our support for Israel by marching along Delmar in University City. Our Brotherhood will look for ways to support Israel in its time of need. We continue to have those kidnapped and those trying to free the hostages in our prayers.
Brotherhood is looking forward to programs in 2024! We are happy to announce our Man of the Year 2023-24 is Dr. Ralph Graff. Our Youth of the Year is still to be determined. This year’s Man and Youth of the Year will be held at B’nai Amoona. Please join us there for a luncheon honoring these well-deserved individuals.
Please also join us for the Holocaust Museum tour which was delayed because of the Israel Rally. We will be rescheduling it.
Join us every third Sunday of the month for a brotherhood get together at 7pm. We look forward to programs with KoREH - Build a Pair (tefillin) and join our intergenerational World Wide Wrap - Sunday Feb 11th. Whether you’ve never put on tefillin, forgot how to put on tefillin, or put them on often! It’s a mitzvah to do it and better when it’s together as a community!
Brotherhood Shabbat will be March 2nd. Let us know if you’d like to have an honor, such as read a verse of Torah or a Haftorah.
We will be having a Midwest Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs retreat in May - please consider broadening your horizons with the fun spiritual weekend with Jewish men from across the midwest.
Am Yisrael Chai!
