Usually, I would be writing something like “Wow! Our time at KoREH has begun and it’s off to a great start!” Yet, the pacing of the Jewish holiday schedule has made it so that KoREH will be running consistently beginning October 15th. We begin this school year with a robust roster of students! There are teachers who are excited to return to the classroom and madrichim (high school assistants) who enthusiastically signed up to take on this responsibility. I am happy to report that our teachers came together in late August for our school orientation. The staff learned about the importance of social-emotional learning and ways we can integrate these concepts into our lessons so that classroom activities can truly be experiences of joyful and meaningful learning.
Speaking of teachers, we are all looking forward to Sunday, September 10, which is KoREH’s Meet and Greet. This is a time for students to meet their teachers and madrichim. I hope it is also an opportunity for parents to connect with other parents as well.
Thank you to all who have welcomed me in this new position. I hope to continue the legacy that KoREH is a community of learning, growth and fun.
And lastly, a big todah rabah to all who donated to Kol Rinah’s School Supply Drive. The staff at Kidsmart happily accepted our overflowing bin of crayons, folders, binders, notebooks and more. These items will be distributed to teachers and schools in the St. Louis community.
B’Shalom,
Cindy Kalachek
