Parent Learning Series
What a great semester it has been at KoREH! We began the year with record enrollment, hitting an all-time high of 74 students! Additionally, 100% percent of our staff returned and due to our growth we also added a new teacher as well. The KoREH community spent our Sundays learning new songs, like the Israeli national anthem and new Hebrew words that have been taught to us from our Shinshinit, Or. We enjoyed special Yiddish folktales told by Bobby Norfolk. And of course, we capped off the semester with a very exciting Torah Bowl, in which students showcased their learning from the previous weeks.
I’d like to extend an invitation to all of the parents in our Kol Rinah community to join KoREH on a monthly basis and attend any of our Parent Learning Series. No RSVP is required and you can come to any or all of the sessions. Looking ahead, here are some of the guest speakers…. January 21:”Challenges and Joys of Parenting” by Dr. Richard Lazaroff, author of the parenting book Some Assembly Required: A Guide to Savvy Parenting; February 25: “Talking to Your Kids about Death and Suicide” led by Ilana Luft-Barrett, PhD and Rabbi Arnow; March 10: “Theology of Parenthood” featuring our scholar in residence Dr. Mara Benjamin.
B’Shalom,
Cindy Kalachek
