HIGH HOLIDAY DOOR GREETINGS
Since our synagogue doors are still closed to us as a congregation and to be safe, our doors at home are closed to each other, we can’t be together to celebrate as we are used to doing. So we thought decorating our doors as Happy New Year – Shanah Tovah greetings is a good symbolic way of ‘opening our doors’ again to connect.
It is as simple as writing the words “Shanah Tovah – Happy New Year from the ______ Family” or “Wishing a sweet new year to all our Kol Rinah family from ____________” or any message you want. Adding pictures of your family, pets, vacation trips, special celebrations or even funny faces is great but not necessary.
As Membership committee, we always felt our main job is to plan and provide meaningful activities and outreach opportunities for all our members – across the age spectrum. We work with other special interest groups within our congregation or create our own programs. Obviously we were unable to call people together. So we thought this to be a safe, creative, easy, family friendly activity that everyone can participate in to join us together for the High Holidays.
Please send in your photos of your High Holiday greeting door to Meir at meir@kolrinahstl.org. You can send in as many as you like. Let’s open up our virtual doors until we can meet together again.
On another subject, we are looking for members who would appreciate a call from the rabbis before the High Holidays to help feel connected at this time of physical and spiritual distancing. Please contact the membership committee and we will relay the message to the office.
Our membership committee doors are always open – feel free to contact us.
