Summary |
The membership committee has been learning to navigate meetings on Zoom like everyone else. And we are trying to think of fun, creative, worthwhile programs to offer our members as a Zoom. It’s been tricky!
Our Decorate Your Door program was not well understood and so we didn’t get the results we had hoped for. But thank you to those who did care to reach out to fellow congregants with their creative and beautifully decorated doors. It was an important sign of togetherness even as we continue to need to stay behind our home doors.
We were part of the High Holiday outreach team, especially to our senior members. We helped to deliver the High Holiday bags and Machzorim and to organize a phone list for our rabbis to call these special people. Thank you to all who helped.
Our next program is to leave Zoom behind and go back to nature – with a Walk in the Park at Stacy Park on October 22. We hope to continue this even as the cooler weather arrives if people are willing.
In the midst of this COVID year, we still have been able to welcome new members. Welcome to Richard and Hazel Sohn, Kari Kramer and Richard Frankel and Laurie and daughter Leela Ferrendelli.
Holidays coming up this winter will give us another chance to come together – virtually for now. Group Zoom Chanukah candle lighting and possibly Tu B’shevat seders are being considered.
Everyone has been so good at sharing jokes. How about a “Share a Joke” Sunday evening Zoom session? Gotta keep it clean!
Tell us if you have any ideas or have heard of other places doing things you’d like us to try.
Stay well
