Summary |
While I feel like I’m still getting adjusted to it being 2023, March is already here! And with March, it really starts to feel like spring is just around the corner. The days stay light a bit long-er, there’s daylight saving time, kids in school have spring break, and those first early spring flowers start to appear. And this year, March also means Purim and our Very Festive Purim Celebration! On Monday evening, March 6th, we celebrate Purim Kol Rinah style – with activities, songs and a puppet show for our families with children, a synagogue-wide dinner, our Purim costume parade and Megillah reading with Purim spiels throughout. Purim with Kol Rinah also means that every household will receive a delightful Mishloach Manot box! A huge thank you to Stacey Abeles and Stacey Hudson for all of their hard work on this year’s Mishloach Manot. And of course, a huge thank you to those Kol Rinah members who helped to sponsor this wonderful mitzvah and fundraiser! And thank you to all of our packers and delivery drivers too!
March also has several special Shabbat services happening. Kol HaMishpacha Family Shabbat, Tot Shabbat, Brotherhood Shabbat and a music filled Kol Chadash service will all take place throughout the month. Sisterhood has launched their 2023 Torah Fund Campaign which will run through May and the Verein group presents a special Zoom session on renowned stained glass artist Rodney Windfield on March 19th.
April is right around the corner and brings Passover! And this year, Kol Rinah will be hosting a Second Seder for Pesach. Please watch your email and the website for more information to come. On April 16th we will have a special gala event to honor Michael Staenberg for the many ways that he has contributed to our building and campus. And finally, plans are already in the works for both Mitzvah Day and a Lag B’Omer event in the month of May. Spring will be here before we know it. I’m not only looking forward to spring, but also to the many wonderful Kol Rinah events and services that spring will bring – I really hope that you’ll come join us!
