Summary |
We’re into November and the past few months have been good for Sisterhood.
The Supper in the Sukkot event went great and was enjoyed by all who attended. The baked potatoes, vegetarian chili and salad was delicious as was the brownies and ice cream for dessert. Rabbi Arnow joined us and gave the blessing for sitting in a sukkah. Wendy Love Anderson gave a beautiful presentation about the many meanings of a "sukkah".
We’re almost at the end of our membership campaign and want to thank all those ladies who have joined already. We expect that we’ll see a few more members join before the campaign ends. Your membership dues go to support the synagogue in many ways like helping our youth group, KoREH, ECC and other ways the synagogue may need help.
In September we had a wonderful program with P’nenah Goldstein talking about how she wrote the book “The Girl from Sighet: A Memoir”. There also was a chance to ask her questions about how she came up with ideas for the book.
Sisterhood is working on ideas for programs for the coming year as well as planning for activities we regularly hold such as the Torah Fund Campaign which benefits conservative seminaries around the world and supporting the Mislach Manot program and providing candy and Shabbos candles and holders for new member gift bags.
