As the High Holidays are past, we look forward to starting afresh in 5780, hoping to improve on the years past. Sisterhood’s annual Break the Fast, generously supported by Steve and Nancy Keyser through the Faye Keyser Seudah Fund, and Supper in the Sukkah are now lovely memories.
As we look at the past, we happily remember Grace Kalina’s beautiful Bat Mitzvah and the opportunity to provide the Kiddush luncheon that day. We thought at the time that her Bat Mitzvah would be the last at our Hanley location. However, Grace Cooperstein’s joyful Bat Mitzvah was also celebrated on Hanley, with another Sisterhood Kiddush luncheon. We thank both families for allowing us to play a part in their simchas.
We appreciate Steve and Nancy Keyser through the Faye Keyser Seudah Fund for sponsoring the Kiddush on August 24, and for the Arnows and Max Brown for the Sisterhood Kiddush on September 14, to honor Susan’s (my) 70th birthday. The Faye Keyser Seudah Fund will again sponsor the Kiddush to honor Veteran’s Day, along with the Heller family to honor Harlan and the 50th anniversary of his Bar Mitzvah! The Keysers will also sponsor a Kiddush to celebrate Steve and Nancy’s wedding anniversary. Thank you to the Keysers for your generous and continued support.
Our annual Trivia night has a new date and new venue. It will take place on February 29th at the JCC this year! Mark your calendars!
Our looking at the future is at the end of this secular year. Our new building is nearing completion. We are thankful for all of the wonderful services that we have had in this building for these past years, and for the joining together of both legacy congregations to become Kol Rinah, soon to be on Maryland Avenue. We are thankful for the friendships and learning we have now and look forward to a continuing future of Sisterhood helping our congregation's ECC, USY, and KoREH. We are thankful to the Congregation for supporting Sisterhood and its mission to help the Shul and all of its parts. We are very thankful.
Looking forward to more,
Susan and Joyce
