Summary |
In May we held social distance board elections.
Our KRSTL USY Executive Board for the 2020-2021 school year is:
Merav Portman - President
Jane Kalina, Joey Sparks - Executive Vice Presidents
Toby Zaidman - Social Action/Tikun Olam
Joey Sparks - Israeli Affairs
Karen Huss - Religious/Education
Hanan Nathan-Slarskey - Membership/Kadima
Ella-Jane Miller - Communications
This summer we stayed in touch with each other, planning and setting goals for this school year.
In addition to our KRSTL Zoom meetings, Emtza, the midwest region of USY, hosted weekly regional lounge nights throughout the summer via Zoom. International USY cancelled all in person conventions for the remainder of 2020. In order to stay as safe as possible, Emtza will be having online USY conventions to keep us connected.
Emtza Region has made a commitment to advocate for racial justice and encouraged all Emtza chapters to form a plan of action supporting this mission. During our first board meeting of the year, we discussed ways we could help. We are dedicated to incorporating educational programs regarding racial injustice frequently throughout the year. Additionally, we have chosen to partner with the ACLU of Missouri as our Social Action/Tikun Olam (SA/TO) project for the year.
We're all looking forward to the day we can all be together again in our beautiful new building. L’ShanahTova!
Merav Portman
