Kol Rinah USY & Kadima News

We have wonderful opportunities and programs to engage our teens and tweens! Kol Rinah has a USY and Kadima chapter called KRSTL (pronounced like crystal). USY is for our high schoolers (9th-12th graders) and Kadima is for our middle schoolers (6th-8th graders). We are part of the midwest region called EMTZA.

This month, USY has enjoyed a range of fun lounge nights! We had a blast celebrating purim together, and the USYers have led us through game nights, photo scavenger hunts, and more. Our USY president, Karen Huss, also led us in a meaningful discussion about the war in Ukraine, and Jewish responses to the war. We look forward to another wonderful month together!Read more...

This month, USY has enjoyed being able to spend time together again after a short winter break. At our lounge nights, we’ve enjoyed some friendly competition in a range of games, and we’ve begun to talk about our plans for the upcoming purim carnival. Over the last few weeks, USY has been having a blast at our weekly in-person lounges. From student-led programming on Israel to game nights to Hanukkah activities, we’ve enjoyed learning from one another, and just getting to spend time together. Welcome Hani Fish-Bieler!

Our new USY Advisor, Hani Fish-Bieler (she/her), is a senior at Washington University, majoring in Sociology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies and minoring in Legal Studies. USY has continued to host a combo of virtual Zoom meetings and in person social distance events. Over the past few weeks, we have been fortunate to meet in person with masks more often which has been awesome. Our Kol Rinah Youth have been busy! Whether they’re baking challah, learning about Israel from our ShinShinit, Shaked, or playing team building games, these teens show so much love and always want to be with each other.
