Happy Spring to All!
I hope you had a wonderful Pesach. We sure did.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Randi Mozenter for her vision, persistence and positive attitude that made the evening honoring Michael Staenberg a huge success. Special thanks to team members Gary Kodner, Stacey Hudson, Stacy Abeles, Bette Abeles, Penny Alper, Gail Kodner, Elisa Israel, Dan Rosenthal, Harlie Frankel, Sherri Sadon. Debbie Zimmerman, Pat Cohen, Ralph Graff, Laura Finkelstein Chaise and Tovah Enger and Meir Zimand for all their efforts in preparation for the event. It really was spectacular!
Amos and I will be away at the beginning of May, but I’m looking forward to the summer and all that it brings – including Shavuot and Summerfest. See you there!
A moment for a special thanks (which is totally insufficient) to Rabbi Shafrin. I wish him well in his new position at the JCRC but will miss him so much as a Rabbi for this congregation. His energy and passion have always been appreciated and I have learned a lot about dealing with people from simply observing him. Rabbi, you’re the best.
Congratulations and farewells are in order too to the Love Anderson/Buhler family. Wendy Love Anderson has completed her Rabbinic studies and received Smicha in April. She will become the Rabbi of Temple Israel in Albany, New York beginning June 1. Jeremy and the kids will be joining her as she embarks on her new profession. We wish her much success and the congregation will miss the entire family. You have all contributed so much to the ritual life of this congregation in ways that are too numerous to list. Thank you for all of your contributions to Kol Rinah.
