Happy Summer to everyone!
Whoever said "lazy days of summer" (besides Nat King Cole) wasn't familiar with Kol Rinah. We have plenty of activities happening that I am excited to mention.
There are some summer changes to our Friday night services - look for info on special Kabbalat Shabbat services on July 14 and August 4. And make sure you save the date - Sunday, August 20 - for our SUMMERFEST, an afternoon of activities, music and food on the synagogue grounds. The JCC, PJ Library and the Saul Mirowitz Community Day School are joining us in sponsoring this event. There will be something for everyone to enjoy. I look forward to seeing you there!
On June 17, we said our formal good-bye and thank you to Rabbi Scott Shafrin and Rabbi Jessica Shafrin as he moves to his new position with the Jewish Community Relations Council. The Shafrins will remain members of Kol Rinah and we are truly happy to know we will continue to see them around.
In April, The Board of Directors unanimously passed a motion to move forward with expanding the Monica Lynne Neidorff Early Childhood Center to accommodate an additional 56 children. The expansion will not only allow us to meet the demand for care by a larger number of families, it will also enhance the financial stability of Kol Rinah. We have been fortunate to have the support of an angel donor to get this effort off the ground. In addition, a 1:1 matching grant has been established. I encourage anyone who is interested in contributing to contact Elisa Israel, Dan Rosenthal, or myself and we will be happy to take you through the project plans.
Thank you for all you do for Kol Rinah,
Barbara
