Summary |
The advent of the High Holy Days always generates a mix of emotions in me that are rarely matched by any other dates on our calendar. I love the anticipation of being at shul, seeing so many friends that I might otherwise not encounter. I appreciate the holiday meals shared with family. I happily recall past, memorable services - sermons, niggunim, shofar blowing, voices of the congregation raised in song. I also recall those who will not be present this year, bittersweet but meaningful in memory. For me, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot allow me time to reflect and rejoice. I hope these do the same for you. Shana tovah tikatevu v’tichatemu. May you be inscribed and sealed for a healthy New Year.
I do want to take this opportunity to recognize Dan Rosenthal and Alyssa Duel on their chairing and successfully planning and executing our first Summerfest. Kol Rinah is so lucky to have had them leading this effort and we are looking forward to growing the event in the years to come. I hope you were able to attend and enjoy the music, food, crowds and children.
Finally, I want to thank our Board Leadership – VPs – Elisa Israel, Blair Kweskin, Randi Mozenter, Dan Rosenthal, Joel Schwartz, Treasurer Marc Spector and Secretary Cindy Payant and, of course, Gary Kodner. You help make everything possible.
