I sincerely hope that your Pesach was enjoyable and fulfilling. Ours was bustling with food and family and friends. I always look forward to Pesach and I’m always glad when it’s over!
This year, May is a complicated month with a roller coaster of emotions in play. We look forward to celebrating Mother’s Day and then, at the end of the month, Lag B’Omer. Typically, we look forward to Yom Ha’atzmaut as well but, as with everything associated with the State of Israel, there is joy and sorrow, support and anger. Amos and I will be in Israel for the first two weeks of May. We plan to visit relatives, check in on friends (including Zalman and Ellen Stein), and try to gain a deeper understanding of what is happening and how Israelis are feeling and coping. I have very mixed emotions about the situation in Israel and I am wondering how I will feel once I am there.
One event in June that I am especially anticipating is New Baby Shabbat on June 15. We have so many young families and it is so wonderful to see their participation on Tot Shabbat. I encourage you to come and meet our youngest members.
News Flash! A special, very big THANK YOU to Sisterhood for underwriting the cost of a new commercial freezer. This was a very unexpected loss and a great helping hand from Sisterhood!
