I recently read a beautiful prayer written by author, spiritual leader and Rabbi, Naomi Levy, called a “prayer for daily insight”. The prayer says, “Open my eyes, God. Help me to perceive what I have ignored, to uncover what I have forgotten, to find what I have been searching for. Remind me that I don’t have to journey far to discover something new, for miracles surround me, blessings and holiness abound. And You are near.”
I love all of the reminders in this prayer. I believe it is always appropriate, but also fitting as we approach our holidays of Purim and Pesach. As we read the Megillah, disguised in our costumes and searching to uncover where Gd is in the Esther story; as we share Seders with our loved ones and retell the miracle of freedom; this prayer reminds us to keep our eyes and perception open as we celebrate the blessings and miracles that surround us both everyday and in all our holidays and traditions. May our Purim and Pesach celebrations be filled with the knowledge and understanding that Gd is near.
Please check the website and your email for all of the latest updates regarding our March and April events that include a Scholar in Residence weekend, Kol Chadash, Tot Shabbats, Verein programs, Lunch and Learn programs, and our Purim and Pesach holiday events.
