Summary |
In July as I chaired my first Sisterhood board meeting as the president of Sisterhood again, it felt a bit strange. Although it would have been nice to have met in person, with all the world's problems, having to meet on zoom didn't seem so bad.
Fran Kaar has sent out our membership letter, so check your mailboxes. We ask you to please renew your current membership or decide to join. Every member counts. Debbie Finkelstein, our treasurer and Golda Burke, our new Financial Secretary, have jumped right in, updating signers and creating spread sheets for keeping our budget in order. Susan Brown is having a great time handling your requests for Sisterhood tributes, and would like to have even more fun. Linda Makler continues as Torah Fund chair, and she is already working on how to exceed the goal set for us by Women's League.
Before the end of our fiscal year in June, Sisterhood gave $3600 to the shul for the Meet the Match campaign for the expansion of the Monica Lynne Neidorff ECC. This donation will be matched thanks to a very generous anonymous donor.
Thank you to Rabbi Jessica Shafrin for her interesting zoom program in June on Feeding Women in the Talmud and Ourselves; and she is willing to do another program sometime in late fall.
Our trip to the Holocaust Museum in July was a success and the group found it very fulfilling.
Thank you to everyone who ordered Honey from ORT this year through our fund-raiser. It's a win-win, for ORT's projects and for our Sisterhood.
On October 3rd we are having "Supper in the Sukkah". Please call the office to make your reservations.
I hope you enjoy the last few weeks of summer before the month of holidays begins in the middle of September.
May we all look forward to a good and healthy 5784.
