May 2024 Sisterhood Message

It’s spring. Passover and matzah-brei are behind us.  Unfortunately, we did not have enough sign-ups for the art museum tour perhaps because of its date not long before Passover. We are going to look for another date sometime in the fall.
You should have received your letter from Linda Makler, our Torah Fund chair, beginning our 2024 campaign in support of future leaders of Conservative Jewry. Please be as generous as you can. Every dollar helps.  For a donation of $180 or more, you will receive this year’s pin which represents the idea that each of us is responsible for one another.

We always appreciate your use of Sisterhood tributes as it helps us give as much as we can to Kol Rinah groups and projects for unexpected and unbudgeted work.

The industrial freezer that Sisterhood purchased for Kol Rinah years ago went kaput. Because the repair would have been very expensive, and we would still have had an old, repaired freezer, Sisterhood offered to donate the new prep-kitchen freezer to the shul.  Our donations are only possible because of your dues and additional contributions at the time and the use of Sisterhood tributes. Thank you.

We have designated June 1st as Sisterhood Shabbat and, as part of the Torah Fund campaign, we will honor Becky Mollet and the Social Action Tzedek committee for their outstanding work here, in the community around us, and in Israel. We hope that you will join us to honor and thank the committee and to enjoy the Sisterhood Kiddush.

We continue to pray for the safe return of those being held captive in Gaza and for the safety of those serving in the IDF in defense of the State of Israel.

Enjoy the beginning of summer. Take care and stay safe.
