We had a wonderful summer at Monica Lynne Neidorff ECC. Classes spent time exploring weekly themes through books that covered a variety of topics including feelings, music, friendship, and so much more. Classes also spent as much time as they could outside and had a lot of fun splishing and splashing in the water sprinklers.

On Friday, May 20th, we had a wonderful Starfish graduation ceremony. It was our first official program celebrated in our new building. In the Sanctuary, families gathered and listened with joyful hearts as the Starfish children demonstrated their accomplishments. They sang songs they learned throughout the school year and performed a movement play based on the story “Ship-Shape Shop”.

MLNECC has been filled with such fun and excitement the last couple of months. In March, classes celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a week filled with silly dress up days and a classroom door decorating contest. Classes also got to listen to many books written by Dr. Seuss and on his birthday, March 2nd, classes could be overheard singing “Happy Birthday.”

In January, classes celebrated Tu B’Shevat. Throughout the week, lots of singing of “Happy Birthday to the trees” could be heard in the hallways. Teachers brought in planters and parsley seeds for the children to plant in the hopes that they sprout in time for Passover. We had a wonderful fall season of learning here at Monica Lynne Neidorff Early Childhood Center. During circle time classes could be heard singing songs about autumn leaves falling to the ground, listening to stories read to them, and “raking” up fake leaves scattered around the room into piles. What an extraordinary last couple months we have had here at Kol Rinah ECC. We got to meet our Shinshin from Israel, Evyatar. Even though the Jewish holidays have looked slightly different due to COVID protocols, we made the most of our Purim and Passover festivities. For Purim, the kids were so excited to dress up in costumes and parade around their classrooms. The classes also loved singing songs with Ms. Karen during music. KRECC is loving this Winter weather. Although the colder days have mostly kept us inside, we have been able to bundle up in our coats, hats, and mittens and go outside some afternoons. One of the days that it snowed, our teachers were able to gather some snow in buckets and bring it inside for the children to look at and touch.
